We’ve all heard this saying. It means that skilled individuals take responsibility for their work and
shortcomings, rather than blaming the equipment they use.
I know that many of you have massage guns at home. Some of you will have purchased them
from me. I’m hoping you still use them between visits. Or have they gone the way of the ab
roller? Remember the ab roller? We all had one in the 90’s. I ended up hanging my wet laundry
on mine.
So, why aren’t you getting results with your massage gun? The hint lies in the first words of the
saying… “a good craftsman”.
It takes five years of full-time tertiary study to become a chiropractor. The first 2 years is pretty
heavily represented by the study of human anatomy and physiology. When I look at you, I don’t
just see your pretty face. I’m also visualising the structures beneath your skin. Why is that
shoulder high? Why does the jaw deviate when you open your mouth?
So, a massage gun in MY hands will most likely provide different outcomes to a massage gun in
YOUR hands.
That doesn’t mean it needs to become a paper weight. I’m always happy to teach people where
the bones are, where the muscles are and which bits to avoid. Often, your problem areas are
difficult to reach. This is when you invite your partner, flat-mate, significant other to your visit so I
can train them how to use the massage gun effectively at home.
As long as you’re okay with a third person being in the room, then I’m okay.
